A brand new blog

22 July 2007, 22:14

It’s time for a complete overhaul, and here it is.

After a period of time in which my blog was accessible from everywhere except my computer, clvrmnky has finally upgraded all of our hardware and I am back on line. To commemorate this undertaking, I am engaged in a complete redesign of the site. This new incarnation has a sophisticated (in comparison to my last one) database management system on it. The biggest obvious changes here will be that you can post comments and there will be dynamic information about posts and comments in (so far) the right-hand side bar.

One of the choices I’ve made in this redesign is to remove all of the old content. Ecogrrl.org has undergone some major changes over the years: when I started, blogs were a negligible part of the internet. My original site had many static pages that I added to and updated periodically. The second major incarnation was the last blog, which most notably contained a travellog of my two trips to Ghana, and some extended information from my master’s research.

Some of this content may reappear—I haven’t made the decision of whether or not to import it in some form. However, I find that this is an interesting opportunity to rethink the kind of communication and creative endeavour I want to have here, without the weight of what has come before.
